Are you the type of person who doesn't mind lending a helping hand wherever it's needed? Do you feel a great sense of satisfaction from meeting goals? An Assistant Branch Manager will let you put these skills to work and more. You'll assist the Branch Manager to make sure everything in the branch runs smoothly.

You'll help make sure the branch meets all of its sales goals with sales of your own or coaching other staff to reach their full sales potential. To help with this, you'll need to stay informed about new products and services the bank offers. You'll also help oversee branch operations. You may help to resolve a customer issue, hiring and training new staff, or completing reports. Another important part of your job is to understand and make sure your bank is in compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulations.

Previous sales and supervisory experience is also important if you're considering this role. Many Assistant Branch Managers begin as a Teller and work their way up. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, but many employers prefer an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field for this position. Find out more about your education options


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure sound operation of the daily activities of the branch
  • Handle customer requests and transactions as needed
  • Complete reports on regular basis related to branch performance
  • Mentor and coach staff to achieve sales success
  • Supervise branch staff including scheduling, hiring, and performance reviews
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulations
  • Assist manager in all areas of the branch as required
